Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly ripped off two cartons of cigarettes from a convenience store after fighting with the clerk.
The incident took place around 12:20 a.m. Thursday when the man pictured walked into the Cumberland Farms store located at 819 River Road in Shelton, said Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango.
The man asked the clerk for two cartons of cigarettes. When the clerk retrieved the cigarettes the man grabbed them and a physical altercation occurred between the two, Bango said.
The suspect was able to overpower the clerk and fled on foot with the cigarettes.
