Fairfield Town Clerk Named President Of New England Clerk Group

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Town Clerk Betsy Browne has taken on a new role as president of the New England Association of City and Town Clerks and plans to host the association's annual conference in Connecticut next year.

Browne was sworn-in at the recent annual conference in Boston. Her oath was administered by Vincent Buttiglieri, president of the International Institute of Muncipal Clerks.

After taking the helm as president, Browne invited fellow clerks from the New England chapter to join her in celebrating 50 years with next year's conference in Connecticut. Browne said it is an opportunity to share ideas and celebrate accomplishments.

Browne, Fairfield Town Clerk since 2005, serves a one-year term as president. She has a Certified Municipal Clerk designation and is a Master Connecticut Town Clerk.

The New England Association of City and Town Clerks is a trade association for municipal clerks in the six New England states. It provides a medium to share ideas and best practices for member clerks. For details visit its website.
