Anthony Scaramucci Puts His Money Behind Stefanowski Endorsement

The so-called "Mooch" has kicked in a maximum campaign contribution for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Stefanowski.

Anthony Scaramucci, a former Wall Street financier who lasted less than two weeks as White House communications director for President Donald Trump last year, gave $3,500 to Democrat Ned Lamont's challenger, according to media reports.

Lamont, a cable TV entrepreneur from Greenwich, meanwhile, contributed another $8 million of his own money to the campaign account, already flush with $5 million more than Stefanowski's balance, according to the latest campaign finance reports. 

Stefanowski of Madison is a former CEO with General Electric Co.
