A local man was charged with a DUI after police spotted him and his girlfriend examining damage to his vehicle after hitting an errant object in the roadway, police said.
According to Wilton Police, a Wilton Police officer noticed a gray Lexus pulled over the Northbound shoulder of Danbury Road with its hazard lights blinking at approximately 1:12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23.
Police said that 25-year old Marcos Antonio Rivera, of Stratford, was determined to be the driver, appeared confused and was unable to answer basic questions proffered by officers.
After failing field sobriety testing, Rivera was charged with misdemeanors for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the property damage accident and ticketed for failing to stay in the proper lane of traffic.
