The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a report of a robbery that took place shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, Hunyadi Avenue.
Police said that a woman reported that she arranged to meet a man in the area to sell a phone through an online social media site. When she arrived, one man entered her vehicle while a second approached her and robbed her at gunpoint. The men then fled on foot.
Investigators were unable to initially locate the suspects, who were described as being African Americans in their 20s wearing dark clothing at the time of the robbery.
According to police, detectives discovered information on the suspect’s social media page, which identified him and his accomplice, and an arrest warrant was issued for Fairfield resident Xavier Nathaniel Parks.
The following day, on Thursday, Aug. 8, Parks was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Following his arraignment, Parks was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday, Aug. 19.
