Man Charged With DUI After Fleeing Scene Of Milford Crash, Police Say

The investigation into a hit-and-run crash over the weekend led to the arrest of a Connecticut man who allegedly attempted to flee the scene after striking another vehicle while drunk, police said.

Officers from the Milford Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Rivercliff Drive at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, where there was a report of a crash. Police said that the offending vehicle fled the scene after hitting another driver.

According to police, the investigation led to the arrest of 61-year-old Milford resident Oswaldo Albornoz, who is accused to drinking, driving and striking the second vehicle before speeding away. Investigators said that Albornoz provided a breath sample at the scene, which found him to have “an elevated blood alcohol content,” and he was arrested.

Albornoz was charged with driving under the influence and evading responsibility. Following his arraignment, Albornoz was released on $500 bond and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 4 to respond to the charges.
