A 31-year-old man was arrested following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly held the victim around her throat restricting her breathing.
Joshua Hayes of New Haven was arrested by Milford Police on Wednesday for disorderly conduct, assault, and strangulation after police arrived on the scene of the attack on Meadows End Road, said Milford Police Officer Joseph Dempsey.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Hayes outside of the home after the victim had called 911. An investigation found that Hayes had wrapped his arm around the victim's neck, restricting her breathing, during the course of the fight, police said.
Hayes was released on a promise to appear ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
