Westport Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a larceny on November 26, 2018.
The victim claimed that she employed a dog sitter named Jill Campoli from Shelton during several trips she had taken throughout the past year and a half. She further stated that more than $17,000 worth of jewelry and cutlery had been taken from her home, according to police.
Further investigation revealed that Campoli allegedly sold many of the stolen goods to a local precious metal dealer, police said.
Police received a warrant for Campoli’s arrest. She turned herself in Wednesday, March 27 around 5:45 a.m.
Campoli was charged with second-degree larceny. She was unable to post her $50,000 bond and was transported to Norwalk Court for arraignment.
