Neal Rorke, 59, Southport Triathlete

SOUTHPORT, Conn. – Neal J. Rorke of Southport died June 19 at home, surrounded by family. He was 59. 

Born and raised in Orange, N.J., Rorke lived on Long Island, N.Y., New York City and Greenwich before settling in Southport 13 years ago. A graduate of Skidmore College, he worked in film and television production, including on the show "Law & Order." 

A lifelong pursuit of physical fitness led Rorke to work at Cannondale Bicycle and Spynergy. He ran in more than 20 marathons and relished the thrill of competition, especially when racing his brothers. Rorke enjoyed being outdoors, bike riding and walking different beaches with his family and dogs, Nessie and Riley. 

Rorke is survived by his wife of 14 years, Alexis; a daughter, Caitlin; a son, Jack; two sisters, Lorraine (Lani) Bader, of San Francisco, Calif. and Maryel (Dick) Schneider, of Bedford, N.Y.; two brothers, Gregory (Mimi) Rorke, of Bronxville, N.Y. and Robert (Becky) Rorke, of Edina, Minn. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Eleanor Moore Rorke. 

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Burial will be private. Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center is handling arrangements.
