An American Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing Tuesday at Bradley International Airport after smoke was reported in the cabin.

The Boeing 738 traveling from Bradley International Airport to Chicago returned to Bradley Airport due to a mechanical issue, said Alisa Sisic, spokesperson for Bradley International.

The plane with reportedly 138 people on board landed safely without any injuries.

The emergency landing did not have any impact to airport operations, Sisic added.
