Jaquan Rosado, 32, faces multiple charges related to the Fiske Street shooting, Fairfield police announced.

Officers responded to the area around 10:30 p.m. on June 23, 2024. Investigators found evidence of gunfire but no victim at the scene.

That changed later that night when a local hospital alerted police that a man had arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg, authorities said. Officers attempted to speak with the man, but he refused to cooperate. However, detectives found his vehicle in the hospital parking lot with several bullet holes on its side.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

Fairfield police believe Rosado and the victim knew each other and were involved in an ongoing dispute that escalated into violence.

Rosado is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to police.

He was already in custody on an unrelated charge when he was re-arrested in connection with the shooting.

Rosado is being held on a $350,000 bond on top of his preexisting bail amount, authorities added.
