There will be a brief break in the dry weather over Memorial Day weekend as a round of showers and thunderstorms moves through the area from west to east overnight.
A quarter of an inch or less of precipitation is expected. (See image above.)
The system will sweep through late Saturday evening, May 25 and wrap up by around 3 a.m. Sunday, May 26 ahead of a warm front that will lead to summer-like temperatures.
Sunday will be much warmer and humid with the mercury rising to the mid 80s. Morning clouds will give way to sunny skies by noon, making for a great beach day.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 27 will be picture perfect and not as warm with mostly sunny skies and a high in the mid 70s.
