The incident took place around 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, when Wilton police were called to a home for a report of a domestic stabbing, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the son outside of the home wearing a blood-stained shirt in the back where he had been stabbed. Officers then entered the residence and found the victim's father Charles Steward, 53, Kluk said.

An investigation found that a disagreement occurred between the two in the kitchen and proceeded into the den with Steward allegedly throwing numerous knives at his son, as he attempted to escape.

At one point, the victim hid behind the couch and his father reached over the back of the couch and allegedly stabbed his son in the back, Kluk said.

Police said Steward then gathered all of the knives and hid them in his bedroom closet prior to police arriving.

Steward was arrested and charged with assault and tampering with evidence. He is being held on $100,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
