The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. Monday when officers responded to the area of Post Road and the exit drive of the Darien Train Station, for the report of an unresponsive male, said Darien Police.
Officers, along with POST 53 responders, treated the man on the scene, before transporting him to Stamford Hospital.
The patient was identified as being from Monroe.
For reasons still under investigation, it appears that the man fell from the train platform structure, landing on the exit drive in the area where the drive meets the Post Road.
At this time, it is believed that the male was alone, and police believe the incident was an unfortunate accident. The man continues to be treated at Stamford Hospital.
As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time, Darien Police said.
