DARIEN, Conn. — Due to expected thunderstorms Saturday evening, the Darien fireworks and associated activities are postponed until Sunday evening, July 2.
Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson made the announcement early Saturday.
The Darien High School campus will open at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for the fireworks event. Parking passes will be accepted, but no refunds will be given for the reschedule.
Food trucks will be at the rescheduled Sunday fireworks, but folks can also bring a picnic dinner to enjoy as part of the Independence Day fund, she said.
Pedestrians are welcome free of charge. Darien residents may also park at McGuane Park and Middlesex Middle School and walk to the high school.
