FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The FBI says arrests in recent weeks likely stopped several ISIS-inspired threats aimed at the July 4 holiday celebration, FBI Director James Comey told reporters on Thursday.
FBI agents made 12 terror-related arrests, with five coming in the New York area, according to NBC News.
Those inspired by ISIS often act on the spur of the moment and are now using encrypted instant messages, making tracking potential terrorists more challenging, said Comey, a onetime Westport native.
