Memory Loss Seminar on May 28 at Waveny Care Network

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Are you concerned about your memory? Waveny Care Network invites the community to attend a free presentation, “Distinguishing ‘Senior Moments’ From Dementia” on Tuesday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. at The Village at Waveny Care Center, 3 Farm Road, New Canaan, Conn. Refreshments will be served.

Featured speaker, neuropsychologist Robert Tepley, Ph.D. of Waveny’s Brown Geriatric Evaluation Clinic, will compare and contrast symptoms of normal aging against those of more serious dementia. Dr. Tepley specializes in neuropsychological evaluation and treatment of cognitive impairment, dementia, medically unexplained symptoms and illnesses, developmental and learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain syndromes.

Dr. Tepley has presented to physician groups, hospital staffs, and at regional and national professional conferences on various topics, including neuropsychological evaluation of mild cognitive impairment and dementia, neuropsychological aspects of medically unexplained illnesses, behavioral management of the brain injured patient, personality assessment following brain injury or illness, and the nature of traumatic memories.

In addition to practicing at Waveny’s Brown Geriatric Evaluation Clinic, Dr. Tepley is the founder of Neuropsychology Consultants LLC, and is appointed to the allied health medical staff at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Conn. He received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, completed his internship in neuropsychology at Edith Norse Rogers Memorial Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts, and completed postdoctoral residence training in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at Norwalk Hospital. He also is a trained marriage and family therapist, earning a Master of Arts degree in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut, School of Family Studies.
