A reception will be held to officially open the exhibit on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m.

Horan's artworks incorporate painting, experimental printmaking, expressive gesture and digital design to create images that engage the viewer through bold color, textural landscapes and graphic abstraction.

Horan, a graduate of Darien High School, received his master's degree in fine arts from the Pratt Institute in 2010 and his bachelor's from the University of Connecticut.

"Horan explores and redefines the energy and space around us through his work," the library said of his work in a statement. "By examining and reinterpreting our environment, we find new perspectives of our world and the many dimensions and states that it holds."
