DARIEN, Conn. -- A new acting class at Darien Arts Center allows middle school students a chance to jump into characters from some of their favorite stories, such as "Harry Potter," "Chronicles of Narnia" and "Star Wars."
The six-week program, called Scenework, involves games and exercises in addition to short skits and improv to sharpen young acting skills. Taught by arts center Kids' Theatre Director Heath Kahlert, the class focuses on learning by doing and will culminate with a show.
The class runs from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursdays, starting Nov. 3. The fee is $170 plus an annual $35 registration fee. The arts center is at 2 Renshaw Road, behind Darien Town Hall.
For details, visit the arts center website or call 203-655-8683. Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community.
