In conjunction with the book fair, the YWCA will host a gently used book drive to benefit Books2Connect. The books collected will benefit a pilot program at the Norwalk Public Schools established by Books2Connect, created to promote childhood literacy in Connecticut.
Donated books should be for toddlers to teens and can be dropped off at the YWCA at the book fair. Both the book drive and book fair are open to the public. The YW’s Reading Is a Gift book fair will feature award-winning titles by Kane Miller and Usborne Books. Usborne is internationally acclaimed for high-quality educational, fun books for children (ages birth-17) that feature lavish illustrations and teach children through reading.
A large sampling of books will be on display in the YW’s art studio on the first floor, as well as catalogs with over 1,900 titles available for ordering. Books ordered will be delivered to the YWCA by Nov. 19.
In addition to books, the YWCA will also be selling high-quality boxed greeting cards. Orders can also be placed online here. The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is at 49 Old Kings Highway North, Darien.
