DARIEN, Conn. -- The Mather Center is offering special events for seniors, including discussions about rheumatoid arthritis, real estate and complimentary lunches.
A local pharmacist from Connecticut Pharmacy will discuss some of the famous people in the world who have publicly battled illnesses and share what kind of medications may have helped them along the way at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"Right at Home in Fairfield County," a lunch-and-learn discussing the many options for seniors besides moving to a nursing home, will take place on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m. A complimentary lunch will be available at noon. David Babcock of Right at Home Fairfield County will discuss all your options in a clear and informative format.
Rheumatoid arthritis will be discussed at the Stamford Hospital's Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, June 16. Dr. Tomas Vietorisz of Stamford Hospital will present an in-depth program on rheumatoid arthritis and strategies for coping with the disease. Vietorisz is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program begins at 12:30 p.m.
A Real Estate Lunch and Learn with Ingrid Hess will take place on Wednesday, June 17. Hess, a local real estate agent with over 25 years of experience, will be there to discuss the specific needs of seniors during their transitional time. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Sharon Kaplove will discuss, in a group setting, how adult parents and adult children should share or hide financial information. The discussion will take place on Friday, June 19, at 12:30 p.m.
