DANBURY, Conn. -- A contractor reportedly struck the water main on Sheridan Street in Danbury, forcing street closures in that area, according to an announcement on Mayor Mark Boughton's Facebook page.
A city crew was en route to shut the water down so that repairs may be made, he said. Water will be shut down on Sheridan Street, from Triangle Street to Home Place and on Triangle Street, from Starr Road to Sheldon Road, the announcement said.
Customers in this area will be without water during the repairs.
Surrounding areas may experience discolored water during and immediately after the repairs.
The repairs are expected to take four hours, said the post.
Any questions regarding the water main break should be directed to the Public Utilities Office at 203-797-4637.
