DANBURY, Conn. -- A female pedestrian was struck on I-84 east in Danbury Thursday evening, causing heavy congestion between exits 2 and 7, according to the News-Times.
The accident occurred at around 5:45 p.m. near exit 7, the News-Times reported. The woman was badly injured but will survive, and police are questioning the driver of the car that hit her, officials told the News-Times.
The accident caused road closures, but state police opened the shoulder of the road around 6:30 p.m.
