DANBURY, Conn. -- The City of Danbury will host a 5K run at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, May 26, that will follow the same path as the Memorial Day parade, which will step off later.
The 5K covers a flat track up and back through Danbury's historic Main Street, with the start and finish at the CityCenter Danbury Green.
The entry fee is $30. Runners can register at www.hitekracing.com or through CityCenter Danbury located at 186 Main St.
Race day registration will begin at 7 a.m.
Proceeds for the race will benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a not-for-profit that provides housing for severely injured and disabled veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Memorial Day parade will follow, stepping off from the corner of Main Street and Rose Street at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
