Truck Event To Benefit Danbury's Family Literacy Center

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Family Literacy Center will host its "Touch a Truck & Fall Hayride" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6 at Danbury High School, 43 Clapboard Ridge Road.

The event costs $5 per person/$15 per family and every child receives a free book. There will be fire trucks, police cars, city trucks, bucket trucks, farm tractors, oil trucks, tow trucks and a food truck, as well as sand art and face painting.

The Family Literacy Center supports children and their families through playgroups and family events. Its mission is to provide literacy experiences for children from birth through age 6 and their families, as well as to improve their children’s success in school. By developing skills and knowledge in literacy and health, and changing behaviors and attitudes towards healthy living, the center will realize its vision that all children will be ready and successful in school.
