The program, which runs from June 22 to 27, will bring together Broadway stars and aspiring performers in grades 8 to 12.

Joey Murray, a stage director from New York City, and Claire Simard, of Ridgefield, will lead Broadway at Wooster. Simard is head of theater and a music teacher at the Wooster School.

The program will include daily master classes on acting, auditions, dance, and other aspects of musical theater.

"We are looking for kids who are extremely passionate about musical theatre, who are looking for every opportunity to practice their craft, and are hungry to perform,” Simard said in a press release.

“We want kids to come away from this week with a better sense of who they are as performers, what makes them unique, and how to apply that to whatever theatrical experience they will have in the future.”

“We are going to have a fantastic line-up of Broadway performers coming to work with our young actors, giving them a real-world perspective and practical training.”

“The final performance will be an original revue of music and dance that is created uniquely for our students in the program."

Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Videotaped auditions are possible for those who cannot be present.

One Broadway song, and another of a contrasting style of any genre – such as classical, folk, musical theater, pop, or rock – should be performed during the audition.

Tuition for the camp will be $690.
