"I am honored that Republican Leader Cafero appointed me as ranking member on the General Law Committee as our community prepares to contend with many important issues this year,” Carter said. "I am eager to hit the ground running and work with my colleagues from across the aisle as we seek to improve and protect legislation relating to consumer safety, fair trade, licensing and other matters."

The General Law Committee deals with issues related to the Department of Consumer Protection, sales practices and occupational licensing.

Carter was first elected to the General Assembly in 2010 and will also serve on the Banks and Energy and Technology Committees.
