DANBURY, Conn. -- A Waterbury woman was charged with attacking a security guard at the Danbury Fair Mall on Thursday, March 4 after police said she tried to steal $158 worth of items from the JCPenny store, according to the News-Times.
Police told the News-Times that Yvonne Shmia Byrd, 27, punched, spit at and tried to bite the guard after she was caught stuffing items into her bag and trying to run out of the store, knocking over displays as she tried to escape.
She was charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor breach of peace, the New-Times reported. She was released after posting $7,500 bond, said the News-Times.
