Suspect At Large After Man Shot, Killed In Danbury

Police are asking the public for help following the shooting death of a man over the weekend in Northern Fairfield County.

According to Danbury Police, the shooting took place in Fairfield County around 10:35 p.m., Sunday, July 12, in the area of Beaver Street and Elm Street, said Detective Lt. Mark Williams.

Police responded to the area after receiving calls regarding a man shot in the area, Williams said.

Once on the scene, officers found a 39-year-old Waterbury man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, Williams said.

The identity of the victim is known but is not being released at this time so that family members can first be informed, Williams said.
