Suspect At Large After 30-Year-Old Shot, Killed On CT Street

Police in Connecticut are searching for a suspect after a man was found shot dead on a city street.

The 30-year-old New Haven man was found shot around 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 17, by New Haven Police responding to a Shotspotter alert and 911 calls regarding gunfire in the area.

According to Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police Department, officers found the man on Hazel Street, between Shelton and Dixwell avenues.

American Medical Response transported the victim to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the police contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at (203) 946-6304.
