Officers on patrol from the Darien Police Department responded to Midbrook Lane shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, where they found several cars that had been burglarized.

According to police, the first homeowner stated that three vehicles parked in his driveway with unlocked doors were burglarized overnight, and police said a 2004 Lexus GX, a Ford Explorer and 2018 Mitsubishi Outback all showed signs of being entered.

The Lexus had its center console open and the contents were strewn about the seats, though nothing was missing. The doors to the Mitsubishi were open, but nothing was disturbed, and three prescription medication bottles were missing from the center console.

A second Midbrook Lane homeowner also reported that his vehicles had been burglarized. He stated that he found his 2012 Audi Q5 and 2004 Chevrolet Suburban was entered and the contents of the consoles of each vehicle were emptied, though nothing of note was stolen.

In both cases, police said that the homeowners said they did not lock the doors to the vehicles that were burglarized. The thefts remain under investigation in Darien.
