Kevin Hadden, 30, of 7 Tierney Street, was arrested Thursday and his bond was set $500,000.
Officers were called to a Tierney Street residence on a report of an intoxicated man who was threatening to harm family members, police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said.
By the time officers arrived, the man had left the scene, she said. Police conducted a search of the area, Gulino said.
A short time later, Hadden returned to the residence and attempted to kick the door open, Gulino said. Officers were able to nab him this time and he was arrested without incident, police said.
However on the ride to police headquarters Hadden made threatening comments about police and also made comments about his family members, Gulino said.
In this incident, he was charged with criminal violation of protective order, interfering with an officer, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. He was held for a court appearance Friday.
Hadden was convicted last year for second-degree threatening and sentenced to a one-year suspended jail sentence and 18 months of probation, according to the state's Judicial Branch website.
He's also slated for a probation hearing on April 3, according to the site.
