Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department NEU said on Friday, Sept. 13 that they received a report of a fight in progress on Main Street in Brewster on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Further investigation revealed that two men were involved in a physical altercation in front of 49 Main Street in Brewster around 10:40 p.m., NEU members say.

One of the men involved in the fight, identified as Henry Castro, 43, of Brewster, damaged the other man’s vehicle during the altercation, according to the NEU.

Castro was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief after recklessly damaging a vehicle in an amount exceeding $250, NEU members say.

Castro was ticketed and released after posting $100 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Brewster Court on Monday, Sept. 30.
