Driver With Sun In Eyes Slams Into Flatbed Of Tractor-Trailer On I-84

DANBURY, Conn. — A driver who reportedly had the sun in his eyes slammed into the flatbed of a parked tractor-trailer on I-84 in Danbury on Friday morning, firefighters said. 

A sedan slammed into the back of the flatbed of a tractor-trailer that was parked near the Exit 2 on ramp of I-84 eastbound during the Friday morning rush hour.

At 7:30 a.m. Friday, the Danbury Fire Department was dispatched to I-84 eastbound near the Exit 2 on ramp for a motor vehicle accident. 

Upon arrival, fire units found the four-door sedan wedged under the tractor-trailer flatbed, which was parked on the right side of the ramp, firefighters said.

The driver of the sedan was transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by a Ridgefield Fire Department Ambulance. 

The driver of the sedan reportedly had restricted vision due to sun glare, firefighters said.

Fire units cleared the scene at 8:45 a.m.
