Danbury Police Say Drug Dealer Suspect Tries To Avoid Capture

DANBURY, CONN. -- A 30-year-old Danbury man is facing drug and other charges following a foot chase this week with police in which he tried to hide cocaine, according to the CT Post.

Edwin Rivera, who was already facing a warrant for his arrest on drug charges, is now also charged with interfering with an officer and possession of narcotics, the CT Post says.

When he saw officers approach Monday, he took off on foot, police said. Officers chased him in through areas near Wooster and Division streets, during which time they saw him drop a bag with 2.7 grams of cocaine, the CT Post reports.
