DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury nanny who was arrested after police said she seen holding a 3-year-old girl's hands and leg on a stove burner on a nanny-cam was ordered held on $1 million bond at her arraignment Monday, according to the NewsTimes.com.
Lidia Quilligana, 31, faces charges of first-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor and third-degree criminal mischief.
The child suffered second-degree burns to her hands and leg, police said. The nanny had told the mother the child had accidentally touched the hot stove while she was tending to the other children, police said. But the mother checked the nanny-cam, which told another story, police said.
"I have seen the video, and it is one of the most horrific things I have ever seen," the News-Times quoted Senior State's Attorney Deborah Mabbett as saying. "You can hear the child screaming on the video as she is trying to get away."
