Arriving firefighters found the attached garage filled with smoke and quickly extinguished the blaze. No firefighters were injured, according to a statement from Steven Rogers Jr., communications coordinator and public information officer with the Danbury Fire Department.
One person was taken to the hospital with burns to their hands and minor smoke inhalation, he said.
Neighbors had alerted homeowners to the fire and the warning allowed firefighters to get to the scene quickly and hold the fire to the garage and prevent fire from extending into the house.
The fire is under investigation.
