CT Duo Nabbed For Rash Of Thefts Of Tires, Rims, Police Say

Two Connecticut men have been nabbed for an alleged series of thefts of tires and rims from vehicles through the Hartford County area.

Most of the incidents involved a Toyota Highlander as the suspect vehicle. The last incident occurred In Windsor Locks in Hartford County, on Thursday, March 25, said the Windsor Locks Police.

On Tuesday, April 6, around 1:07 a.m. a Windsor Locks officer was on patrol in the Route 75 area, where most of the incidents have occurred. 

The officer spotted a white Toyota Highlander, matching the suspect description, turning onto Route 75 from Spring Hill Suites. 

A motor vehicle stop was initiated and occupants of the vehicle, identified as Daniel Melendez, and Bryant Serrano, both age 23 of Hartford, were detained, police said.

During an investigation following the stop, the officer located four Nissan rims and tires inside the vehicle along with a jack and lug wrench, police said.

 Officers later found a Nissan with the rims/tires missing at the Fairfield Inn.

Melendez and Serrano were charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.
