WESTON, Conn. -- Bethel police have found the car that was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a Weston cyclist, First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker said Thursday.

The investigation into the crash was continuing, Knickerbocker said. No other information was provided.

Thomas Steinert-Threlkeld of Weston was killed Oct. 20 in a cycling accident at Route 302 and Old Hawleyville Road in Bethel.

Two cars were involved in the accident. One fled the scene after apparently causing Steinert-Threlkeld to fall off his bike, police said. Steinert-Threlkeld was trapped under the second car, which was coming from a different direction, police said.

Steinert-Threlkeld, an avid road cyclist, was the editorial director of B2B Publishing at IBT Media.
