DANBURY, Conn. -- Ruth V. Barrett (Violette), Danbury native, died Monday, Sept. 7 at Regional Hospice and Home Care Center. She was 93.
She was the wife of the late Raymond Barrett.
Barrett was born on May 25, 1922, in Danbury to the late John and Lorena Violette and graduated from Danbury High School.
She worked for many years in retail at the Bargain World Department Store in Danbury. Barrett was an avid fan of NASCAR racing.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Kathy) Barrett , Ron (Patty) Barrett and Janice (Skip) O'Marra; grandchildren, Michael (Rachel), Matt, (Courtney) Marcie, Tom (Morgan); great-grandchildren; Kinsee and twin boys, Luke and Cale; sister, Gerry Sipe; and best friend, Betty Egan.
Barrett was predeceased by both parents and brother, Burt.
A private ceremony will be performed at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, with burial to follow.
