DANBURY, Conn. -- There has been a water main break on Merrimac Street in Danbury as a result of a contractor digging through the water main, according to Mayor Mark Boughton.
A crew is en-route to the location to begin shutting off water service to the area so that the water main may be repaired. The repair is expected to take approximately six hours, Boughton said.
Customers without water service during this repair will include Merrimac Street, Belmont Street, Belmont Circle, Belmont Lane, Lombardi Street, Concord Street, Belmont Place and Perkins Street.
The surrounding area should expect discolored water during this repair. As always they will flush hydrants once water service has been restored to all residents.
