DANBURY, Conn. — Crews were responding to a water main break on Oak Ridge Avenue in Danbury on Wednesday morning, according to the mayor.
The water main break is in front of 7/9 Oak Ridge Ave., according to Mayor Mark Boughton.
"Our crews are enroute to evaluate the break and begin shutting water off to the affected area so that a repair may be made," he said at about 8 a.m.
Customers without water or with low water pressure will include Oak Ridge Avenue, Ridge Road, Concord Road, Green Avenue, Lexington Avenue and Claremont Avenue. Customers in surrounding areas such as along Lake Avenue and Lake Avenue Extension may experience discolored water during the repair work.
The repair is expected to take four to six hours. Once the break has been repaired and water service is restored, the city will flush hydrants in the area to alleviate any discolored water.
