All hands are on deck in Ridgefield, as crews continue recovery efforts in the town following a storm that felled trees and downed utility lines, leaving thousands without power.

On Wednesday, Ridgefield officials announced that crews have been working around the clock in efforts to clear roadways for emergency vehicles as the region continues to dig out from Tuesday’s storm.

As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, 77,649 of Eversource’s 1,270,056 customers - including 2,010 in Ridgefield - remain without power, and according to Eversource, customers can expect a multi-day outage as they wait for line and tree crews to make their way to the city to begin the restoration process.

In response to the storm, the Ridgefield Parks and Recreation facility on Danbury Road will be opened until 10 p.m. on Wednesday for showers and for charging electronic devices. It will then reopen early at 6 a.m. on Thursday morning. Portable water is also available at the building - with hoses located on the left side of the building.
