Officials are warning homeowners to be wary following reports of a scammer making the rounds in the city posing as a South Norwalk Electric and Water employee.
An alert was issued this week from the company after a Norwalk resident notified them that someone claiming to be an employee from South Norwalk Electric and Water threatened to shut off the power to their without the payment of a large sum of money.
The Norwalk Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Officials from South Norwalk Electric and Water said that this incident was a scam and anyone who believes they may have been targeted can contact law enforcement officials by calling (203) 854-3000.
