DANBURY, Conn. -- A Danbury nanny accused of abusing three children after being caught on video, will face a jury trial after rejecting the 25-year plea deal offered to her, according to the News-Times.
Lidia Quilligana, 32, who has been in custody since her arrest a year ago on 23 counts of risk to a minor and one count of first-degree assault, turned down the prison sentence, which would have suspended the sentence after 17 years with a mandatory minimum of 10 years, according to the News-Times.
Quilligana was arrested after police said video revealed the abuse that had been occurring for at least two weeks. Quilligana's next court appearance is July 12, added the News-Times.
