The decision comes nearly a year after Stamford school board officials voted unanimously to fire her after she was arrested in 2014 following revelations of a sexual relationship between English teacher Danielle Watkins and a student who was 17 at the time. On Monday, Valentine and her attorney said they were glad to have the charge dismissed by Stamford Judge Gary White so they can focus on getting her job back, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Former Assistant Principal Roth Nordin, who was charged with failing to report child abuse, also had her charge dismissed after both officials participated in a court diversionary program for first-time offenders, the Stamford Advocate reported.
