The saliva-based test can detect the virus in asymptomatic people, according to its developers at Wren Laboratories in Branford

The at-home testing kits from Wren Laboratories are sold online and shipped via FedEX.

The test takes about 3 minutes to complete. Results are over 99 percent accurate, according to reporting by Eyewitness News 3. Directions on how to take the test are available at the FDA.

Once a sample is received by the lab, results are usually available within several hours.
