Accident On I-84 Jams Traffic Through Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. -- An accident blocking the left lane of eastbound I-84 was causing traffic delays through Danbury on Thursday evening, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said. 

The accident was reported at about 6:10 p.m. between Exits 5 and 6, DOT said. Backups of more than 2 miles were reported, DOT said. 

It was not clear how long it would take to clear the accident scene.
