The Monroe resident once again won the top prize in the “10X The Cash 11th Edition” almost exactly six years after winning $10,000 in a different Conneticut Lottery game.

“I’m just shocked,” Bonitatibus Jr. said in a press release.

On Aug. 17, 2010, he was at the state Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to collect a similar prize.

Bonitatibus Jr. was grabbing his morning coffee at the Stop & Go Food Mart, 612 Main S., Monroe, when he decided to try his luck on a scratch ticket. Bonitatibus said he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“I cleaned my glasses — I thought it was $50,” he said in a press release.

Bonitatibus said he will spend his winnings on home restoration. “I’ll redo the kitchen and cabinets—put the rest in the bank for an emergency fund,” he said in a press release.

For selling the winning ticket, Stop & Go Food Mart receives a $100 check from the state Lottery.
