DANBURY, Conn. -- State Rep. Dan Carter and state Sen. Michael McLachlan, both Danbury Republicans, will be volunteering to ring the bell for the Salvation Army to raise money for needy residents at the Danbury Wal-Mart on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
All proceeds will be matched by Walmart dollar-for-dollar during the hour Carter is collecting.
This will be the second year Carter is ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. Last year he helped raise $3,209.08, contributing to the $76, 643.28 raised over the past four holiday seasons by the House Republican Caucus for the Salvation Army with the help of Wal-Mart.
They welcome all Danbury residents to stop by the store located at 67 Newtown Road between noon and 1 p.m. on Dec. 17 to help make the fundraising event a success.
